Dear Readers,
It’s been a long-awaited return, and I’m delighted to announce that after a three-year hiatus, Uganda Diaspora News is officially back! During our time away, I gained a deeper appreciation for the profound impact this platform has had on our readers worldwide.
Throughout our absence, many of you generously shared how much Uganda Diaspora News meant to you. At our annual conventions across North America, I often encountered readers who described our platform as their trusted source for authentic news from home and the diaspora—whether they were pursuing advanced studies abroad or reflecting quietly in a distant city, seeking a connection to their roots.
Yet, I often wondered why so few reached out directly. Behind the scenes, our Google Analytics always hinted at the vast and diverse community we had built, stretching across East Africa, the Middle East, Australia, Japan, Europe, Southern Africa, North America, and even remote regions like Alaska. As this vibrant community grew, so did our operational costs, prompting us to reassess our approach, strengthen our partnerships, and adapt to the rapidly evolving media landscape.
Now we’re back—and better than ever, aiming to create a richer, more interactive experience. We invite guest contributors from various disciplines—medicine, education, business, music, fashion, tourism, philanthropy, and politics—to share their unique perspectives. Our goal remains steadfast: to be an authentic voice for the Ugandan diaspora in a time when journalistic integrity is increasingly rare.
In addition, we’re introducing a donation feature for readers who wish to support our dedicated team and the future of Uganda Diaspora News. We remain proudly non-political and independent, committed to telling genuine Ugandan stories that inspire, educate, and empower future generations of readers, writers, and content creators. Excitingly, we also plan to incorporate video content and feature travel bloggers to share diaspora stories in real-time.
What began as my master’s project at Boston University in 2008 has blossomed into a significant global platform touching countless lives. I kindly ask each of you reading this to share Uganda Diaspora News widely within your networks. Together, let’s restore and surpass our past successes, making this the premier destination for Uganda’s diaspora narratives.
Let’s proudly become the best ambassadors of Uganda, sharing and celebrating our success stories worldwide!
Warm regards,
Ronnie Mayanja
